We’ve got two injury updates regarding IPL teams. Boy wonder Vaibhav Suryavanshi outdid Rajat Patidar in Guwahati. Babar Azam has broken Chris Gayle’s long-standing T20 record. LSG’s new finisher Mukul Choudhary idolises IPL’s greatest finisher.
Harshit Rana injury update
Harshit Rana, who underwent knee surgery in February, has checked into the Centre of Excellence for rehabilitation. Rana missed the T20 World Cup 2026 and IPL 2026 due to his injury. Until mid-March, Rana was unable to walk without crutches. As a result, he’s gained weight, which may delay his recovery.
Suryavanshi shines again
Vaibhav Suryavanshi wowed the world again, scoring yet another 15-ball half-century in IPL 2026. The 15-year-old smashed 78 off 26 in a 202-run chase, which included scoring 18 off 4 against Josh Hazlewood. Suryavanshi now has the most runs, most sixes, and the highest strike rate in the tournament.
Hasaranga out, Linde in
LSG has named South African left-arm spinner George Linde as Wanindu Hasaranga’s replacement. The franchise hadn’t heard anything from the Sri Lankan all-rounder regarding his fitness status, which forced their hand. Linde is an established franchise player, having played in the SA20, PSL, CPL, MLC, and The Hundred.

Patidar’s Venkatesh ploy works
RCB were on the wrong side of the result against RR, but captain Rajat Patidar stood out. The 32-year-old scored 63 off 40, rescuing RCB from a collapse. His knock and the decision to sub in Venkatesh Iyer helped the defending IPL champions score 76 in the last six overs and post 201 on the board.
The Thala impact
Mukul Choudhary, the find of the IPL 2026 so far, stunned everyone with his ice-cold demeanour during the chase against KKR. During his half-century, Mukul struck a few helicopter shots. Some people’s minds went to MS Dhoni, since his name is synonymous with it. Those people were right, since Mukul has called Dhoni his idol.
Babar Azam’s new T20 record
Babar Azam has become the quickest to score 12,000 T20 runs. In his 338th innings in the format, the Pakistani batter went past the milestone. Previously, Chris Gayle held the record, having taken 5 more innings than Babar. After that, there’s a significant gap, with Virat Kohli, David Warner, and Jos Buttler being the closest.
