“Don’t expect good gestures” PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi issues warning to India, remains confident to host CT
Mohsin Naqvi also ruled out the reports of BCCI sending a letter to ICC for non-participation at the Champions Trophy

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi has a stern message to the Indian team. Yes, the main man behind Pakistan’s preparations to host the Champions Trophy 2025, has asserted Pakistan has been showing great gestures towards India but the neighbours, India, shouldn’t expect the same every time.

Naqvi’s message, who addressed media in Lahore, highlighted Pakistan’s participation at the ODI World Cup 2023 when the Men in Green visited India for the mega event. Conversely, India last played on Pakistani soil way back in 2008. Due to geopolitical tensions between the two countries, India’s involvement in the Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled in Pakistan, is under question.

Mohsin Naqvi denies BCCI sending letter to ICC

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi has also dismissed reports suggesting India may opt out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. He emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to hosting the event as planned and awaits an official response from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian government. He clarified that no official communication has been received from the BCCI or ICC.

We want cricket to be devoid of politics,” Naqvi stressed. “No sport in the world should have these kinds of politics.” The PCB Chief reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to hosting the entire Champions Trophy, dismissing proposals for a hybrid model or relocating India’s matches to Dubai.

The BCCI has reportedly expressed concerns over security and logistics in Pakistan, but Naqvi remains resolute. “If BCCI confirms in writing that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan, we will consult with the government and abide by their decision.
