CCL 2025: The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is an exhibition cricket league in India where film actors from different Indian film industries participate. The league consists of eight teams, each representing different regions of India. The tournament follows a round-robin format where each team plays four matches in the league stage, and the top four teams advance to the semifinals.

CCL rules

Unlike traditional T20 matches, CCL matches are played in four innings, with each team getting two innings of 10 overs each. The team that wins the toss decides whether to bat or bowl first, and the chasing team then gets a chance to chase the target. In CCL, this rule was first introduced back in the 2023 edition.

Celebrity Cricket League format

The round-robin stage of CCL 2023 has eight teams competing. The league stage consists of four games for each team. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals based on the points standings. The top-seeded team takes on the team that finished fourth in the first semi-final, and the second semi-final features the teams who finished second and third.

CCL 2025 start date

The CCL 2025 was previously scheduled to take place from January 31, but the fixture has been revised, with the first match now set to be played on February 8, featuring Chennai Rhinos vs Bengal Tigers as the opening game.
