With an emphatic win against Gujarat Titans, KKR have moved to 7th on the IPL 2026 points table and have kept their hopes of making it to the playoffs alive. Despite winning this game, Ajinkya Rahane and co. still need to win both their remaining matches, and then pin their hopes on the results of other teams’ fixtures to go their way in order to somehow finish in the top four. KKR currently have 11 points to their name, with five wins from 12 matches.
Can KKR still qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs?
The answer is a big no. Although mathematically they are still not out, and have two matches to go. They had to, had to win their remaining matches, which they could not. Now, not only do they have to win all their encounters by very big margins, but also hope that teams like SRH, PBKS, CSK, RR and DC don’t win at all. Impossible, one should concede.
If they win 2 matches: If they win all 2, and get to 15 points, they should have a sound NRR too. Then a lot of permutations will come into play, who beats who…
If they win 1 match: It will be almost impossible, but there is a way. Multiple results need to go KKR’s way for them to qualify with 13 points.
For KKR to qualify with 13 points, they will need RCB to beat PBKS, DC to beat RR, SRH to beat CSK, LSG to beat RR, GT to beat CSK, LSG to beat PBKS and MI to beat RR. But even then, KKR must have a better net run rate than PBKS.

Kolkata Knight Riders clinched a convincing 30-run win against Gujarat Titans in Kolkata on Saturday. The hosts posted a mammoth 248-run target for GT, thanks to Finn Allen’s 93, Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 82 and Cameron Green’s 52. GT’s fielding was quite slopp throughtout the game, with the team dropping 5 catches. While Shubman Gill top-scored with a 85-run knock, GT failed to chase down the target despite Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler scoring fifties.
