The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually on December 22. The meeting will be the board’s first since the elections which were held earlier where Mithun Mahnas was elected the new BCCI president while Devajit Saikia was re-elected as the secretary. A wide range of issues will be discussed during the BCCI AGM, including the revision of the BCCI central contracts.
Agenda for BCCI AGM on Dec 22
As per Cricbuzz, one of the key points on the agenda for the BCCI AGM is revision in the domestic pay structure of women cricketers. Apart from that, the board is also expected to discuss the revision of payments for match referees and umpires. As per the report, the meeting will commence from 7 PM onwards on December 22.
- Item No. 1: Confirmation of Minutes of the 30th Apex Council Meeting.
- Item No. 2: Revision in payments for women cricketers in domestic cricket.
- Item No. 3: Update on BCCI Digital Properties.
- Item No. 4: Revision in umpire and match referee payments.
- Item No. 5: Annual Player Retainership Contracts.
- Item No. 6: Any other business the Chairperson may consider necessary to include in the agenda.
Gill to get promotion, Ro-ko’s future uncertain
As per news agency PTI, the revision of central contracts will be the main topic of discussion during the BCCI’s AGM on December 22. The report states that Gill could be placed in the top A+ category along with Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah. With Gill set to be the all-format captain in the future, it won’t come as a surprise if he is elevated. The report also states that a call will be taken on whether to retain Rohit and Virat in the Grade A+ category on the central contracts during the meeting.
