India’s gamble to promote Shivam Dubey fell flat in Dubai on Wednesday. In the IND vs BAN game at the Asia Cup 2025, the Men in Blue got off to a flying start with Abhishek Sharma and Shubham Gill firing. Suryakumar Yadav threw Shivam Dube into the deep end to extend the run.
Suryakumar Yadav’s Shivam Dube gamble falls flat
India got off to a flyer with Abhishek and Shubham smashing 72 in the powerplay. Shubman was dismissed straight after the powerplay and India opted to promote Shivam Dube to No.3. With Bangladesh spinners coming into play, Dube was sent to counter the threat effectively.
While the left-hander has often been deployed as a spin hitter in the IPL. However the move did not work out in Dubai. The CSK star could only add 2 to his name before being dismissed by Rishad Hossain.
