England cricket team will take on Australia Prime Minister’s XI before the pink-ball Test in Ashes 2025. The epic rivalry between the two sides will resume on November 21 at the Optus Stadium. Previously, reports stated that England will have only one practice match before the Ashes 2025. Now, another practice match has been added to their schedule which will help them prepare for the day-night Test.
Another practice game for England before Ashes pink-ball Test
As per Cricbuzz, this will be the first time England will take on Australia PM’s XI in a multi-day game. The tie will take place between November 29 and 30, just days before the pink-ball Test which is scheduled to commence on December 4 at the Gabba. Australia have tasted overwhelming success so far in pink-ball Tests that they have played at home.
“I look forward to meeting with the selectors to finalise a PM’s XI squad that showcases the best available talent from across Australia to take on the strong English team,” Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
Earlier, Cricket Australia (CA) announced that England will play only one official red-ball practice match before the first Ashes Test in Perth, lining up a three-day fixture against the England Lions at Lilac Hill from November 13–15.
