Renowned cricket legend Kieron Pollard has started his first pre-season practice session as the batting coach for Mumbai Indians. After completing his first session as a coach, Pollard expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play for Mumbai Indians and represent the people of Mumbai. He also promised to maintain his same personality and character around the team.

At the end of his first session, Kieron Pollard said, “Words really can’t describe the feeling of playing for Mumbai Indians and representing the people of Mumbai. They have done a lot for me as an individual and I guess I have done a lot for them from a player’s perspective, the bond we have I guess it’s more than just cricket matches and things like that. For me nothing will change, I’ll be the same sort of personality and character, around the guys.”
The young Mumbai Indians players shared their excitement about the impact Pollard’s presence would have on the team. Tilak Verma, who shared a dressing room with Pollard last year, said he is excited to see him in the new role. Dewald Brewis, who played many games with Pollard last season, reminisced about his first net session with the legendary player.
Mumbai Indians all-rounder Ramandeep Singh praised Pollard for his guidance and brotherly support. Kumar Kartikeya, a new player last year, appreciated how Pollard never hesitated to have a conversation with him despite his status as a big player. Hrithik Shokeen joked and teases Pollard by calling him ‘Coach’ sometimes.
Pollard is always a leader, and players always go up to him and seek advice. Now, with a full-time role, the young players who desire to imitate Pollard’s success are looking forward to spending even more time with him. And also they will try to learn from his experience and get life lessons as well.
