The similar pattern followed in the second set too. Both the players never let the opposition to break their service game. Djere improved his game from the first set and this time took the game into the tie-breaker. In the tie-breaker, he however lost steam and was also seen struggling a bit with a hamstring issue on his left leg. Tsitsipas made light work to win the tie-breaker 7-1 and marched into the quarterfinals.
Speaking after the win, Tsitsipas credited his opponent for displaying a tough fight. “I know I have to be alert and 100%. He is someone who is very consistent and I have to work really hard to clinch the victory.”
On his upcoming contest against either Musetti or Schwartzman, he said, “I really both of them can compete very well on clay. All I can is show up with good mentality and do my work with passion and dedication.”
