India’s medal hope finally shattered after wrestler Vinesh Phogat was declared overweight and disqualified from the Paris Olympics.
Vinesh Phogat, who had dropped down from her usual 53kg weight class to compete in the 50kg category at the Paris Olympics, has been disqualified from the competition. On the second day of weigh-ins, she was found to be slightly overweight, exceeding the 50kg limit by approximately 100 grams. The Indian fans are shattered and sad after this news.
