Several media reports confirmed Dmitry Bivol is now divorced from his ex-wife Ekaterina Bivol. Although the world champion boxer is yet to speak on it, his ex-partner has already done so.

Ekaterina revealed she and Dmitry Bivol were living separately for several months and the recent divorce is the extension of a split up that had happened long back.

Per reports of Russia. Posten.com, Dmitry Bivol’s wife went through a tough time and had to meet a psychologist. However, he apparently decided not to ‘hold back’ her ex-partner.

The couple reportedly met in 2007 on an airplane journey. Yet to become a world champion back then, Bivol was preparing for his upcoming fight while Ekaterina was flying to meet her grandmother.

The couple later met when Bivol appeared with three bouquets of flowers for Ekaterina, her mother, and her grandmother.

Bivol and Ekaterina tied the knot after reaching legal marriage age and gave birth to two children- Miron and Nikon.

Nevertheless, the couple ended up in several disagreements after several years of happy journey. Bivol’s ex-wife further clarified that the financial agreements regarding the divorce will be taken care of by the prescribed law.

Referring to Dmitry Bivol post-separation, his ex-wife said, “I’ am not sad with Dima [Bivol]. What should I get used to? I have always been alone for at least six months, and over the past year we have not seen each other for 10 months, I am very used to lone less.”

“I feel sad at times. But I thought it would be worse. Turns out I am much stronger than I thought. Surprised by myself.”

According to Ekaterina, there was no ‘real reason’ behind the split up. That said, she agreed to move ahead and didn’t seem to regret the 16 years she spent with the current world champion boxer.
