On Friday, the jury gave their verdict, calling 22-year-old Liam O’Pray guilty of murdering Tyson Fury’s 31-year-old cousin Rico Burton.

As per the reports of TMZ, Liam O’Pray stabbed Rico Burton on the left side of his neck. The duo got involved in a bar fight in Altrincham, Chestire in August 2022. Following a brief feud, O’Pray attacked Fury’s cousin with a 7-inch blade.

The fatal stab caused havoc blood loss, causing life loss for Rico Burton. During the same incident, Liam O’ Pray also injured 18-year-old Harvey Reilly.

Several media reports claim that the witnesses of the incident cited Liam O’Pray to have acted “very erratic” after drinking, which ultimately led to the brawl at around 3 AM of the night.

Following the incident, Tyson Fury had expressed his grief on social media and demanded actions from the UK government to prevent people from carrying knives.

He also asked for higher sentencing in such incidents. The WBC champion wrote on Instagram, “You don’t know how bad it is until it’s on of your own.”

Now that Liam O’Pray has been convicted of murder, he has been sentenced to life in prison.
