The 25-year-old looks likely to make his comeback this year and is eyeing big matchups. Ryan Garcia is now training under Derrick James, the same man who coaches Errol Spence Jr. and Anthony Joshua, amongst others.

Meanwhile, ‘KingRy’ can possibly return to the ring in November, claims Golden Boy Promotions President Eric Gomez. In a chat with the PRO Box TV, Gomez shed views on several aspects including when we can expect Ryan Garcia back.

Eric Gomez said, “With King Ry we are targeting mid-Nov for [his comeback]. We have been in discussions about opponents..”[Jose Zepeda] is another kid, who is available for Ryan…We have offered [Zepeda] to Ryan.”

36-3 as a professional Jose Zepeda is a top-tier super lightweight prospect with 27 knockouts in his favor. The 34-year-old beat Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat in his last outing.

While Ryan Garcia might be his next, ‘Chon’ seems viable for a hefty payday incoming his way. The fight, however, is still far from getting materialized on paper.

Per Box Rec, Ryan Garcia is still medically suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for the punishment he took against ‘Tank’ Davis. The 12-round fight ending in the 7rh cites how lopsided it was in favor of Gervonta Davis.

Ryan Garcia Lost His Unbeaten Record In a Bad Way

Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis were considered arch-rivals, especially with the verbal venom spat from both ends during the media pressers. The in-ring affair was very different from the pressers.

‘Tank’ Davis absolutely dominated ‘KingRy’ throughout the bout. He dropped Garcia in 2nd, leaving the entire T-Mobile Arena electrified. Ryan Garcia got back up and continue the fight but remained on the wrong end of a beatdown.

Gervonta Davis outboxed Ryan Garcia tremendously in the 7th and earned one of the biggest wins of his career. The two also validated a potential rematch in the future. It remains to be seen whether Garcia comes across ‘Tank’ Davis again.
