In an effort to avenge his brother Jermell’s defeat to Canelo, Jermall Charlo has declared his intention to take on Caleb Plant and Canelo Alvarez.

Before facing Canelo for the undisputed super middleweight championship, it’s advised that Jermall take part in a few tune-up battles unless he only wants to do it for the money.

Jermall Charlo Plans Revenge On Canelo Alvarez

Plant, a former IBF super middleweight champion who has previously challenged Charlo, wants to fight him. Jermall must first prevail in his forthcoming match against 154-pounder Jose Benavidez Jr. on November 25 in order to consider matches against Canelo and Plant.

After his warm-up bout against Jose Benavidez Jr. on November 25, inactive middleweight Jermall (32-0, 22 KOs) appears sure that he would be given a title shot against undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo. Because of last weekend’s disappointing performance by Jermell, the boxing audience is probably not interested in seeing Canelo (60-2-2, 39 KOs) face another Charlo. If he had been interested in fighting Jermall, he may have changed his mind.

“When I get the chance, I’m going to knock the f**k out of Caleb Plant,” Jermall Charlo said on Instagram.

“Hey, I’m going to come back and get revenge, watch.”

Given his past performance versus Juan Macias Montiel 27 months prior, there are questions about Jermall’s current form, nevertheless.

Jermall’s desire to exact revenge for his brother’s defeat and possibly increase his chances of competing against Terence Crawford profitably is what spurred him to take on Canelo.

By taking on the winner of Tim Tszyu vs. Brian Mendoza, he may increase his credibility and get Crawford’s attention.

Meanwhile, Charlo is allegedly in talks for his much-awaited comeback, which might happen in November on the undercard of the David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade fight.
