Fury and YouTube boxer KSI have been in talks about perhaps fighting in Manchester later this year. After KSI claimed that the Love Island star was attempting to change the agreed-upon weight from 180 pounds to 185 pounds, the battle was put in peril. For the majority of his most recent boxing contests, KSI has weighed in about the 180-pound mark, but he has now agreed to fight Fury at 185 pounds if Fury agrees to the rehydration clause.

The contract with his previous opponent Joe Fournier included a similar rehydration clause, which prohibited the two from exceeding 190 pounds during the second weigh-in, which took place hours before the fight. After using an illegal elbow to viciously knock out Fournier, KSI’s victory was eventually reversed to a no-decision.

KSI had issued an ultimatum to Tommy Fury on Twitter writing, “Welp, ladies and gentlemen I don’t think this fight is happening anymore. Tommy Fury is simply being difficult…. We agreed to fight at 180 with no rehydration clause, we also agree to fight in your hometown, Manchester. We agreed on all of that and then you chose to move the goalposts yet again! Now you’re demanding that we fight at 185, or we’re not fighting at all…. Tommy, I think you need to realize who the f—- you’re talking to…. You have until Monday, July 36 P.M. to sign the contract. If you don’t sign it, I’m moving on, that’s that. Remember, you need me, I definitely do not need you.

In a video posted to Twitter, Fury criticised KSI for not being open and honest throughout the talks for their fight, saying: “Here we go again guys, KSI going on about how it’s my fault the contract hasn’t been signed yet. Just to be clear, KSI only recently consented to drug testing for this fight and is already griping about the weight.

“Take this fight at 185 pounds or leave it. I understand you’re a midget and concerned about your weight, but if you keep eating, you’ll lose the weight. In case he is unable in getting a bout against KSI, Fury then proposed a rematch with former rival Jake Paul. Paul accepted Fury’s invitation and suggested October as a possible date for their second encounter.

KSI overweighed 185 pounds for both of his encounters with Logan. In the past, Paul Fury has competed at weights as low as 178 pounds. When the two faced off earlier this year in Saudi Arabia, Fury handed Jake his first loss, ending Jake’s undefeated streak. Paul will fight UFC icon Nate Diaz in August, as opposed to his bitter opponent, who was anticipated to want a rematch.
