Before their much-awaited heavyweight battle, Deontay Wilder informed Anthony Joshua that he was “ready to fight.”
With his most recent bout being a first-round KO victory over Robert Helenius in New York in October of last year, Wilder has been away from the ring for more than a year.
In the meantime, Joshua is expected to face Wilder after defeating Helenius via knockout at the O2 Arena in August.
Malik Scott, Wilder’s trainer, has previously voiced his dissatisfaction with the hold-ups in securing a contract to face Anthony Joshua.
To secure the match with Joshua, Wilder is confident that he is doing everything in his power.

Deontay Wilder To Face Anthony Joshua
When they had all four of the major world titles in the division between them, Wilder and Joshua were unable to come to an agreement on terms for an uncontested confrontation, but there has been conjecture recently that they may ultimately face off in Saudi Arabia in 2024.
In an interview with Sky Sports last weekend, Joshua hinted that the highly anticipated fight might be included on a major show that has Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk as the top two fighters next springtime. Fury, however, has stated that he would want to take on the Ukrainian as early as December.
Although he hasn’t fought since stopping Robert Helenius in the first round of a trilogy fight versus Fury in October 2021, 12 months ago, Wilder feels that he is ready to take on Joshua.
The 38-year-old Wilder is well-known for his devastating punching power; in 46 professional fights, he has won 43 times, 42 of them coming from close range.
After suffering disappointing losses to Usyk in his WBA, IBF, and WBO title fights earlier this year, Joshua has bounced back. Usyk took Joshua’s WBA, IBF, and WBO crowns.
Before facing former WBC champion Wilder in December, Joshua (26-3, 23KOs) is scheduled for another training session. Wilder refuted any notion that his British opponent might be taking on too much.
