Terence Crawford losses: Who did Terence Crawford lose to in the amateurs?

According to Boxrec, Crawford has a 25-11 amateur record. This includes two knockout wins and no knockout losses. However, the 11 losses will shock fans as they are used to watching Crawford dominate his opponents.

‘Bud’ Crawford started his amateur career with a loss. It was against Darnell Jiles Jr. in the Junior Olympic National Championships trials. He then had a mixed bag of results in the USA Olympic program, losing seven of his first seventeen bouts. This also included a loss against former welterweight champion Danny Garcia.

Crawford then went on a 12-fight unbeaten streak, including a win over Danny Garcia to avenge his defeat. However, he would then lose to another former champion in Yordenis Ugas. Three more losses followed in his last six amateur bouts. Eventually, Crawford ended his amateur career on a losing note, losing to Miguel Angel Gonzalez in 2007.

Crawford then turned pro, and the rest is history. He dominated three divisions, winning belts in every division he competed and even becoming undisputed champion. And against Errol Spence Jr., Crawford has the opportunity to do the same again.

What do you make of Crawford’s amateur career? Do you think Errol Spence Jr. can inflict Crawford’s first loss in his professional career?
