BGMI 4.2 Update: Weapon Balance Adjustments
The update focuses heavily on rebalancing several key weapons to create a more refined shooting experience. Assault rifles such as the AKM, M762, ACE32, Honey Badger, and Mk47 will receive a 2-point increase in base damage, giving them more stopping power in short and mid-range fights. The Groza is also getting a 1-point damage boost, further cementing its dominance as a high-tier assault rifle.
Meanwhile, multiple shotguns — including the S686, S1897, NS2000, S12K, DBS, and M1014 — are set to receive reduced base damage. Their bullet spread will now include a touch more randomness, making close-range battles more skill-dependent and less predictable.
Classic Mode Enhancements
Classic Mode will also receive smoother movement mechanics, with improved window climbing animations aimed at delivering a more fluid and realistic in-game experience.
Metro Royale Additions
The update will expand Metro Royale with new features such as the Glacix Arbiter, a powerful Fabled melee weapon capable of one-shotting PvE enemies and bandits. This rare weapon can be obtained from zombie-type monsters or map bosses in Chapter 30. Once collected, it remains in the player’s inventory permanently and does not drop upon elimination.
Players can also look forward to the introduction of Vine Crates, which appear randomly across the map and contain valuable items that can be sold for high returns. The update also brings a new sellable Fabled item, the Military Drone, which can appear in various crate types alongside new collectibles.
The Home System is getting a social upgrade with the Fated Connection feature, allowing players to form partnerships and host Fated Ceremonies with their in-game companions for unique interaction options.
The BGMI 4.2 Update is shaping up to be one of the most well-rounded patches yet, combining refined weapon balances, smoother mechanics, and fresh content across multiple modes. Players can expect the full release in early January 2026.
