Indian Badminton ace Saina Nehwal has added a brand new Mercedes-AMG to her car collection. The shuttler along with her husband Parupalli Kashyap posted image and video of their new car on their social media handles much recently.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ performance Coupe costs around Rs. 1.71 crores (ex-showroom) in India.
Calling it their ‘new beauty’, Saina Nehwal posted pictures of the welcome ceremony for the new car. Saina and Kashyap were also seen cutting the cake while buying the luxurious car. With the purchase, Saina Nehwal joined the list of few celebrities in India who own the Mercedes AMG Coupe.
The AMG GLE 53 features many upgrades that includes sportier air suspension system, active dampers and upgraded brakes. The car’s 4Matic+ system allows it to go from 1-100km/h in just 5.3 seconds. It also has a top speed limit of 249km/hr. This adds to Saina’s garage that also has other luxury cars like BMW X6, BMW 3 Series and Mini Cooper.

Saina Nehwal recovering from injury
On the professional front, Saina Nehwal is currently recovering from a knee injury. The 33-year old last played at the Singapore Open in June. Since then she has been out of the tour.
The London Olympic bronze medallist slipped down to 91st rank in Women’s singles at the moment. Recently she conceded that it will be difficult for her to qualify for the upcoming Olympics. She has set no timeline for her return and will only return after she fully recovers from her knee inflammation.
