Star Indian shuttler PV Sindhu will not be attending the badminton national camp as per a report in the Hindustan Times. In the run-up to the Asian Games 2023, the Badminton Association of India has organised a two-week long camp, but the Tokyo medalist will train separately with her coach Muhammad Hafiz Hashim of Malaysia.

The report further suggests that the former WR-2 PV Sindhu has been granted an exemption by the concerned authorities. She will continue to train at the Gachibowli Stadium and Suchitra Academy. Meanwhile, this was a mandatory camp for the 19 Asian Games 2023 bound-players.
The likes of Lakshya Sen, Tanisha Crasto, and Ashwini Ponnappa are playing in the Hong Kong Open, and are not present at the badminton national camp either. The Indian badminton team will leave for the Asian Games 2023 on September 24.

PV Sindhu has had a tough 2023, where she lost in the first round of seven tournaments. Her ranking also slipped out of the top 10 in the world. Her only creditable performance came at Spain Masters, where she made it to the final. To arrest the slide in form, she also trained in Bengaluru with Prakash Padukone and Vimal Kumar.
The 28-year-old could also make a visit to the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy again, soon. Earlier on Wednesday, Saina Nehwal had spoken about PV Sindhu at an event. The former did not rule out Sindhu and said she could be among the medals.
