Asian Games: Jyothi Surekha, Ojas Pravin win gold, Lovlina bags silver

Neeraj Chopra enters as the overwhelming favourite to defend his title. Lovlina Borgohain settled for silver

Indian Archers Jyothi Surekha and Ojas Pravin won gold medal in Mixed Team compound Archery at the Asian Games. Boxer Lovlina Borgohain meanwhile settled for silver medal.

Chirag Shetty, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy advanced to the quarterfinal at the Asian Games. Sindhu sailed past Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani with a 21-16, 21-16. Prannoy too clinched a straight game win. Chirag and Satwik meanwhile had to play three games against Indonesia’s Leo Carnando and Daniel Marthin. India’s Women’s Doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand bowed out from the pre-quarterfinal.

Earlier in the day, Indian Men’s Kabaddi team continued their dominance as they sealed a 63-26 win against Thailand in their second group encounter at the Asian Games.
