As per Cricbuzz, Harry Brook has withdrawn from the upcoming SA20 by the England Cricket Board. The decision comes as a shock to the franchise Joburg Super Kings and organisers Cricket South Africa. The 23-year-old has become an all-format regular for England over the last year and a call was taken to manage his workload.
“Since he plays all three formats, the ECB thinks it is too risky to permit him to play the SA20. We have received the communication from the ECB last night. We will have to look for a replacement,” revealed Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of Chennai Super Kings which also owns the Johannesburg franchise in the South Africa league.

Brook was bought for R 2.10 million by the franchise at the auction earlier this year in Cape Town. The 23-year-old played the T20 World Cup and the three Tests against Pakistan recently. He will also feature in the three-match ODIs, scheduled between the SA20. The three ODIs will be played on January 27, 29 and February 1.
While it is JSK’s loss, it is clearly Sunrisers Hyderabad’s gain. The 2016 champions broke the bank with a massive INR 13.25 crore purchase of the England star. The SA20 withdrawal is unlikely to affect his IPL stint, with Brook expected to feature for the entire series.
