Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, was bought by the Mumbai Indians in 2021 at his base price but didn’t play any game with the Mumbai outfits. But with the experience of rubbing shoulders with Trent Boult, Zaheer Khan and other stars, he gained valuable experience.
It propelled him to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad for the first time. As the tournament is set to commence in February, Arjun Tendulkar is expected to make his First-Class debut.
But ahead of the IPL 2022 Auction, he was released by Mumbai Indians retaining Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard. The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place on 12th and 13th February in Bangalore.

Mumbai Indians lost one of their star players Hardik Pandya, to the new franchise team Ahmedabad. Pandya has been appointed as the skipper of this new team and would be eager to showcase his captaincy in IPL 2022. Owing to the new rules in terms of player retention, Mumbai Indians had to release some of their key players like Ishan Kishan, Quinton de Kock, Trent Boult, and others.
