Microsoft has announced a new Xbox Free Play Days event, taking place from February 26 to March 1, 2026, offering a great lineup of shooters, strategy games, and co-op mayhem. The big draw for this weekend is the Server Slam for Marathon, which offers early access to one of the biggest releases of March.

Free for Everyone Titles (No Game Pass Required)
Two games are completely free to access this weekend without any subscription:
Marathon (Server Slam)
Marathon is a new extraction shooter being developed by Bungie and set to arrive in March 2026 with a price tag of $39.99. The Server Slam is essentially a massive stress test event that will give players a chance to experience the game’s fundamental gameplay, shooting, and matchmaking functionality. It is worth noting that the Server Slam event will be playable until March 2.
The Sinking City Remastered
It is an investigative horror game with a Lovecraftian theme. This remastered version comes with improved graphics and optimized performance for the latest Xbox consoles.
Game Pass Required Titles
The following titles are available for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Core, Standard, or Ultimate:
- Anno 117: Pax Romana – The latest Roman-era city builder from Ubisoft, focusing on expansion, trade, and politics.
- Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration – A selection of classic Atari games combined with interactive historical content.
- Moving Out 2 – A physics-based cooperative moving simulator, famous for its chaotic gameplay.
- STUFFED – A procedurally generated FPS where the player takes control of a teddy bear defending its owner from nightmares.
Platform Availability and Progress Transfer
Most of the games are available on Xbox Series X|S, while Atari 50, STUFFED, and Moving Out 2 are also compatible with Xbox One.
Most importantly, the progress will carry over. If the players choose to buy any of the games mentioned above after the event, their progress will seamlessly carry over.
