He says that he doesn’t avail a large amount of money even though the video clips have nearly more than 12 million views. With regards to this, the YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki in her letter to creators had taken the effort to mention that the YouTube shorts were launched in the market as an initiative to capture the market of short-form video content & compete with other largest platforms like Tiktok etc.

After the ban of the largest short-video content platform, Tiktok, YouTube grabbed the opportunity to launch its own platform giving creators a golden chance to shift their content from Tiktok to shorts, saving them from a miraculous loss of years of hard work. Creators took the opportunity as a boon to survive the loss of content & started shifting their presence and video clips to the new platform.

Ludwig, being no exception, decided to shift his content to the new platform & ever since he has been uploading a lot of videos. Now, he officially holds an audience reach of nearly 10 millions. However, recently he opened up on how little money he makes, after a long period of four years.

The YouTube streamer Ludwig gave obvious reasons as to why YouTube shorts is not the right platform to make money. In The YouTube industry, ads incentives are the main source of income for creators but shorts do not showcase any ads, which makes it a reason for low income. The company tries to compensate for no ads incentives with the YouTube payments feature for shorts, where they just pay you for drawing a large number of views in the channel.

Ludwig says that it’s quite unfair on the part of editors who edit the videos and receive half an amount of what is earned from the video which is quite not sufficient on their part for the kind of work they deliver & time they put to get it done in the best possible manner.

He clarifies that his intentions were only to remain transparent with his audience and show the aspiring creators the struggles of content creation on platforms like YouTube shorts.
