WPL 2025: Georgia Voll records highest score in Women's Premier League history

Voll admitted that she missed out on a century and should have hit the ball for a boundary on the final ball of the innings.

It was an International Women’s Day special from Georgia Voll, who lit up the Ekana Cricket Stadium with a magnificent 99 not out on Saturday, March 8. Playing for the UP Warriorz against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Voll equalled the highest-ever individual score in the history of the Women’s Premier League.

Voll’s incredible boundary barrage helped UPW register the highest-ever team total in the history of the competition, 225/5, beating Delhi Capitals’ 223/2 from March 2023. Interestingly, both totals came against the RCB side.

Voll’s sensational ability to access all parts of the field square of the ground helped her score 17 boundaries and a six. She added 77 runs off just 43 balls with fellow opener Grace Harris and from there kept on building strong partnerships with Kiran Navgire (71 off 31), Chinelle Henry (43 off 25), and then with Sophie Ecclestone (32 off 19). The batter was stranded at 99* after Ecclestone lost her wicket in the final over, and Voll herself was not able to score 2 runs on the final ball of the innings.

Speaking at the mid-innings interview, Voll admitted that she missed out on a century and should have hit the ball for a boundary on the final ball of the innings.

Probably should’ve got a couple more in the last few overs, but we’re happy with that. It’s a good wicket to bat on. I probably should’ve known she was going to bowl that (missing out on the hundred last ball),” she said at the mid-innings break. This was Voll’s third match in the WPL. She had scored 55 off 33 balls in the last match vs Mumbai Indians.
