WPL 2023: The most successful franchise in the IPL, the Mumbai Indians, is also the proud owner of a women’s franchise under the same banner name in the WPL. The franchise rights were purchased for a whopping Rs 912.99 crore by the Mumbai Indians. Coincidentally, the captains of both the national men’s and women’s cricket teams are now also the skippers of the Mumbai Indians franchise. Harmanpreet Kaur is appointed as the captain of the women’s team, while Rohit Sharma has been the skipper of the IPL side since 2013 and has won five titles for the MI franchise.
