Why is Bellerive Oval known as Ninja Stadium?

Popular Bellerive Oval stadium in Tasmania, Australia, has hosted many cricket games and has always been an impressive venue. But do you know why it is known as Ninja Stadium?

Bellerive Oval, situated in Bellerive, Tasmania, is one of the iconic Australian cricket grounds, famous for hosting Big Bash League matches and many ODI games since 1988, as well as Test cricket matches since 1989. Apart from this, the stadium also hosts Australian Football League games, especially for the North Melbourne Football Club, for whom this venue is a second home. Known for holding a capacity of 20,000 and packed with world-class features, this stadium has been a favourite venue for many sports lovers.

Tasmanian Tigers, Tasmania’s state cricket team, and the Hobart Hurricanes from BBL, for them this venue is a home ground. As mentioned above, hosting big cricket matches is the USP of this stadium. It is also the second largest stadium in Tasmania. But have you ever wondered why this stadium is known as Ninja Stadium? This question has surely been on everyone’s mind for a while. Although the original name is Bellerive Oval, why has it come to be known as Ninja Stadium?

Why is it called Ninja Stadium?

The reason is quite interesting. This prestigious venue, which recently got rebranded as Ninja Stadium, is due to a four-year naming rights partnership with SharkNinja, the kitchen, home, and beauty appliances company. They will hold the naming rights to Bellerive Oval until at least 2028, and that is the reason why this stadium is known as Ninja Stadium.
