Catch who won IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Ekana Stadium on Tuesday.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) encounter was never supposed to be a high-scoring thriller. And it didn’t turn into one either. But what it did become was a proper contest of two teams messing up first but RR handled it far better and recovered from an early collapse.

Ravindra Jadeja held their innings together with a calm 43 not out, and once they got to 159, their bowlers made sure it was more than enough. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) folded for 119, handing RR a comfortable 40-run win. Jadeja won the Player of the Match award, his 17th, but first time for a team not named Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Jadeja rescues RR after early collapse

At 32/3 inside four overs, this could have gone badly wrong for Rajasthan. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel were all back early, and LSG had the game right where they wanted. Mohammed Shami ruled the roost. But Jadeja played it differently. No rush, no panic. Just held one end and kept building.

He first stitched together a steady stand with Donovan Ferreira and then added an unbeaten 49-run partnership with Shubham Dubey at the death. That final push made the difference. RR scored 52 runs in the last five overs, with Jadeja taking 20 off Mayank Yadav in the final over alone.

It wasn’t a flashy innings, but it was exactly what the surface demanded. From 77/5, getting to 159/6 suddenly looked like a fighting total.

LSG collapse again despite Marsh fight

Lucknow’s chase never really started. At 31/3 in the Powerplay, they were already behind the game. Rishabh Pant fell for a three-ball duck, Markram didn’t last, and the early damage was too much. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger were smart with their plans and silenced the Ekana Stadium with superb display of new-ball bowling.

Mitchell Marsh tried to drag them back into it with a 55 off 41 balls. He added 43 with Pooran and then 37 with Himmat Singh, but every time he looked set to accelerate, a wicket followed.

From 107/1 in their previous game, LSG had collapsed. Here, it was even worse. Once Marsh fell in the 16th over, needing 55 off 27, the game was done. Jofra Archer (3/20) and Nandre Burger (2/27) cleaned up the team, with LSG bowled out for 119 in 18 overs.
