The former Indian captain slammed his 52nd century in ODIs, turning the clock back with his sublime knock. The century against the Proteas in Ranchi marked Kohli’s first in the 50-over format this year in India.

Kohli reached his 52nd ODI hundred in the 38th over. He has struck 5 sixes and 7 fours en route to this century. After suffering two consecutive ducks in the first two ODIs against Australia, Kohli bounced back to form with an unbeaten knock in the 3rd ODI and his fine form spilled over in the IND vs SA 1st ODI.

Kohli finished his innings with 135 runs to his name off 10 deliveries, It is his best score at the venue in ODIs so far. There has been a lot of talk about Kohli’s future in the ODIs. Prior to the Australia series, chief selector Ajit Agarkar had claimed that Rohit Sharma and Kohli were non-committal towards playing the World Cup. However, the duo have proved the selectors wrong with their fine form in the 50-over format so far. After an unbeaten 74-run knock against Australia in the 3rd ODI, Kohli’s fine form in the 50-over format continues as he torments the Proteas bowlers this time around.
