Former Indian Test cricketer Virat Kohli’s brother launched an unfiltered attack on the Indian team management as Rishabh Pant and co. are on the verge of suffering a second whitewash at home within a span of a year. His remarks come amid the hosts being tasked to chase down a mammoth 549-run target in the IND vs SA 2nd Test in Guwahati. Kohli’s brother minced no words in targeting chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir over their tactical blunders in the ongoing series.
Virat Kohli’s brother slams Indian team management
Taking to social media platform Threads, Kohli’s brother Vikas noted that India were currently struggling to save a Test at home while there was a time when the team fought hard to win in overseas conditions. What he could be referring to is the spirted attitude that Kohli instilled in the team during his tenure as captain which boosted the confidence of the side, driving them to win a Test no matter what even in overseas conditions. Taking a jibe at Gambhir and Agarkar over the poor show in IND vs SA series, Kohli noted that this is what happens when one tries to boss around and change things unnecessarily.
“There was a time that we played to win even in overseas conditions. Now we are playing to save the match even in India. This is what happens when u try to boss around and change things unnecessary which were not broken,” Vikas wrote on Threads.
Virat is no longer a part of the Test team as he announced his retirement earlier this year in May. His retirement from the longest format of the game came as a shock, especially after he had indicated that he wishes to continue and even had returned to Ranji Trophy as a part of his preparation.
