Indian football star Sunil Chhetri revealed that Virat Kohli had shared his fitness test scores with him recently and he was mighty impressed with the results. The former Indian captain, who announced his retirement from Tests in May 2025, was the only Indian player to take his fitness assessment in London while the rest of them visited the BCCI’s CoE in Bengaluru to do so. Chhetri, who shares a good bond with Kohli, drew a parallel between the cricketer and football legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kohli, Ronaldo on same level: Chettri
In a podcast with DesiPL, Chhetri revealed that Virat had sent him the scores of one of the fitness tests that he underwent in London. He said that such fitness levels could even motivate a person on his lethargic days. The former Indian football captain added that everyone wanted to be a Kohli or a Cristiano Ronaldo while they were in top form.
“A few days back, he (Kohli) was sending me his scores of one of the tests he was doing. It is so addictive, and it is so good to know these kinds of people,” Chettri said.
Further, Chhetri said that one thing that was common between Kohli and Ronaldo was that they were never satisfied with what they have achieved. He revealed that he had tried to replicate the same as well.
“I don’t know personally (Cristiano) Ronaldo. I have watched him, studied him. I know Virat (Kohli). The one common thing about these two is that they are just not happy with what they have already achieved. I tried in my whatever way to inculcate the same thing because once when you start getting into that circle where you start thinking about what you have done, good or bad, then you are not in the same track that you want to be,” remarked Chhetri.
