India cricket team star Virat Kohli is all set to add another feather to his studded cap as he has been nominated for the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year 2025 award. The veteran, who retired from Tests earlier this year, has been in red-hot form and has slammed four fifty-plus scores in the last four ODIs that he featured in. Kohli is the only Indian to be nominated for the prestigious award.

As per reports, the cricketers who have been nominated for the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year Award are Kohli, Matthew Breetzke, Joe Root, Shai Hope, Daryl Mitchell, Matt Henry, Adil Rashid, Sikandar Raza, Mitchell Santner, Jayden Seales. Interestingly, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma has failed to make the cut despite being in good form in 2025.
Virat has featured in 13 ODIs in 2025 and has managed to score 651 runs at an average of 65.10. He has slammed three centuries and four fifties in this year, with a highest score of 135 which came in the IND vs SA 1st ODI in Ranchi on November 30. Overall, he has 53 hundreds and 76 fifties to his name in the 50-over format and has amassed 14557 runs.
Kohli will next be seen in action for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in September. The last time that the veteran participated in the domestic tournament was over a decade ago. Kohli’s participation in VHT will serve as preparation ground for the India vs New Zealand series which will commence from January 11 onwards.
