Venkatesh Prasad had previously served as the vice-president of the KSCA, where Anil Kumble was the at the helm, from 2010-2013.

As per a latest report in Cricbuzz, former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad is all set to become the next KSCA president, following the scrutiny of the nomination. Apart from Prasad, KN Shanth Kumar and Kalpana Venkatachar had filed their nominations for the president’s post.

Venkatesh Prasad to be seen in new role

While Shanth’s nomination was rejected, Venkatachar later withdrew. So, effectively, Prasad was the only choice left for the post. If that is not enough, there was a setback in Prasad camp as well, as former treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya, who was to contest for secretary’s post, also failed the scrutiny.

“This decision has been a personal setback, but it has not shaken my commitment or my resolve. In fact, it has only strengthened my belief in the change we are all striving for. My full strength, energy, and unwavering support now stand firmly behind Team Game Changers, ably led by our legendary cricketer Venkatesh Prasad,” Mruthyunjaya said in a statement.

Valid nominations across all posts:

President: Venkatesh Prasad, Kalpana Venkatachar (withdrawn)

Vice-president: D. Vinod Sivappa, Santosh Menon, Sujith Somasundar, Kalpana Venkatachar, B.N. Madhukar

Secretary: E.S. Jairam, Sujith Somasundar, Santosh Menon

Treasurer: B.N. Madhukar, M.S. Vinay, B.N. Subramanya, A.V. Shashidhara, Kalpana Venkatachar

Managing committee (life members): Kalpana Venkatachar, Sailesh N. Poll, V.M. Manjunath, Sanjai Ashok Anand Poll, Vagesh Prasad B.S., K.S. Kedarnath, Avinash Vaidya

Wants RCB to play in Chinnswamy

Earlier, Prasad had spoken about brining lost glory back, and also about keeping RCB in Bengaluru. “We are going to work extremely hard to make sure that the Bengaluru team (RCB) plays at Chinnaswamy Stadium in the upcoming IPL. We would also work to bring back glory to the Chinnaswamy (Stadium) that it has lost in the recent past,” Prasad added.

Having said that, as per reports, the RCB franchise seems to have reached out to the MCA, to make Pune as their home venue for IPL 2026.
