Even though match 32 between Zimbabwe and Ireland in Kandy was a washout, on Tuesday, it was still quite eventful. Well, the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled, which handed a point each to both the sides.. and that meant, Zimbabwe qualified for the Super 8 from Group B, along with Sri Lanka, while Australia were knocked out in the group stages.
To put things into perspective, this is only the second time, and the first time since 2009, that AUS did not progress to the second round of a T20 World Cup. This performance only shows lack of form by the Mitchell Marsh-led side, who lost to ZIM on Feb 13, and then to Sri Lanka on Feb 16. On the flipside, it is only the second instance, where Zimbabwe have qualified for the second round of the tournament. In 2022 they had made it to Super 12.
So, now, seven teams have made the cut to Super 8, with just one spot remaining in Group A (most likely Pakistan will go through). With the Super 8 starting on Feb 21, it only becomes worthwhile to look at the schedule.

Coming to the T20 World Cup Super 8, Group 1 schedule, India begin the proceedings with South Africa on Feb 22 in Ahmedabad. They play their next match vs Zimbabwe on Feb 26 and the last encounter will be against West Indies, to seal a spot in the semis.
Mind you, there is still a chance that Pakistan qualifies from Group A, go on to make the semis/final, and play India again. But that is still some distance away for now.
