The Kerala Cricketer Association has announced the squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy, with youngster Rohan Kunnummal being named as the skipper. Sanju Samson, who found a place in the T20 World Cup squad, has been included for the 50-over tournament as well.

Apart from that, there is experienced players like MD Nidheesh, and Vishnu Vinod as well. Not just that, the team will also have upcoming spinner Vignesh Puthur, who had impressed one and all, during his stint with MI in IPL 2025. Meanwhile, Kerala is placed in Group E along with Tripura, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Pondicherry, and Tamil Nadu.
Coming back to Sanju Samson, if he can come up with some strong performances in the VHT, perhaps that could pave the way for his comeback in the format. IN ODIs, he averages 56 and has a ton and three fifties to his name.
This year’s VHT will be a special one, as the Indian stars will be in attendance in the tournament. After it was made mandatory for India caps to play domestic cricket, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and others will be seen in action as well.
