Sanjay Manjrekar stumped by question on his father

Sanjay Manjrekar stumped by question on his father

Sanjay Manjrekar was taken aback when asked a question about his father, Vijay Manjrekar, and he was not aware of it.

Sanjay Manjrekar encountered an awkward situation when he was not informed about his father Vijay Manjrekar’s achievements.

When asked who was India’s first keeper-batter to score a century, Manjrekar had no answer. But, it was shocking because his father had achieved this feat to become first Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred in 1953.

Sanjay who is always critical of cricketers’ gameplay, was in a tough situation this time.

Sanjay further jokingly added that his father was a bad cricketer on Star Sports before the commencement of Day 3 of the IND vs SA 1st Test in Centurion.

Vijay Manjrekar had played 55 Test matches and scored 3,208 runs in his 13 years span cricketing career. He had smashed seven hundreds and 15 fifties, having a average of 39.12.

While, his son has played 37 Tests and managed to score 2,043 runs at an average of 38.67. He has just four Test centuries in 9 years.
