The South African team faced a setback with a surprising loss to the Netherlands after two consecutive wins. However, they made a strong comeback in their previous match, thanks to remarkable performances by their batters, with three half-centuries and a century, setting a challenging target of 400 runs against the defending ODI World Champions, England. Moreover, South Africa’s bowling unit complemented this effort by dismantling England, securing a convincing 229-run victory in just 22 overs.

On the other hand, Bangladesh enters the match after a string of three consecutive defeats to England, New Zealand, and India. Although they started their campaign with a win against Afghanistan, the Tigers have faced difficulties in maintaining their momentum towards a spot in the semifinals. However, a positive news for Bangladesh is the return of Shakib al Hasan to their lineup. A win against South Africa in this upcoming match could potentially revive their hopes of securing a spot in the top four.
