West Indies is one of the handful of teams in the T20 World Cup 2026, who have remained unbeaten until now. That has been largely due to the perfect playing XI they have managed to compile. Now, their next test is against Zimbabwe on Monday, as they begin their Super 8 journey at the Wankhede Stadium.
InsideSport takes a look at the predicted playing XI of West Indies, against Zimbabwe.
No changes needed on batting front
Somehow, everything seems to be going well for the West Indies, as far as batting is concerned. Shai Hope has scored 155 runs in 4 matches, at an average of 51. Shimron Hetmyer has scored 134, and has been effective in his position. Sherfane Rutherford has played cameos too. These are the players who have scored most of the runs for the team so far. So, they are a must-have. Plus, they don’t have many alternates in that department.
Call between extra spinner/pacer
Credit to the West Indian bowling unit, that have been exceptional, especially Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph, who have bagged 7 wickets each. Romario Shepherd and Gudkesh Motie has picked up 6 wickets each. So all looks well for them. Matthew Forde, and Roston Chase have delivered as well, but the only weak link has been Akeal Hossein. He should be replaced.
The options available are Chase, and Motie. Both can bat as well and score some decent runs. But then they have the option of getting in Jayden Seales too.
