Domestic career
In 2013, Phillip Salt began his cricketing journey with Guildford Cricket Club before joining the Sussex Academy in 2014. He showcased his talent in Second XI matches and the Sussex Premier League, notably scoring 200* from 129 balls against Horsham and winning the Player of the Month award in August 2014. Retained by Sussex for the 2015 season, Salt continued to impress, making his List A debut and scoring 72 from 52 balls in a Sussex Premier League match. He made his Twenty20 debut in 2016 and his first-class debut against Pakistan. In 2019, Salt signed for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. In 2021, he moved from Sussex to Lancashire CCC. In 2022, he joined the Manchester Originals for The Hundred and was bought by Delhi Capitals for the 2023 IPL season.

In May 2019, Phillip Salt was added to England’s T20I squad for a match against Pakistan but did not play. In July 2021, he made his ODI debut against Pakistan due to squad changes caused by COVID-19. Later in December 2021, Salt debuted in T20Is against the West Indies. In June 2022, he scored his first ODI century (122 runs) against the Netherlands, contributing to England’s record-breaking total. Salt played a crucial role in England’s victory in the 2022 T20 World Cup, featuring in both the semi-final and final matches.
