List of players ruled out of T20 World Cup 2026

While several players have been ruled out of ICC Men's T20 World Cup, a few others are still sweating on their fitness.

As the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 approaches, the excitement is simply hitting the roof. Like the previous edition, this season will also see 20 teams divided into four groups of five teams each play against each other, followed by the knockouts. With only days remaining for the marquee event, some teams will be missing their in-form players after an injury ruled them out.

Although, several teams are still sweating on the fitness of a couple of players, especially Australia and India, listed below are some players who will miss the 2026 edition due to injuries and fitness struggles.

List of players who will miss ICC T20 World Cup 2026

Naveen-ul-Haq (Afghanistan)

Afghanistan, a team who have ust gone upwards when it comes to performance over the years, will be without the services of Naveen-ul-Haq. The Afghan fast bowler is recovering from a stress fracture in his right shoulder and has undergone a surgery for the same. As a result, the Afghan Atalans have called in Zia-ur-Rahman Sharifi as his replacement.

Adam Milne (New Zealand)

The Black Caps too were handed a jolt after a hamstring injury ruled Adam Milne out. The Kiwi pacer sustained the injury while playing for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in SA20 2025-26. However, NZC have named Kyle Jamieson as his replacement, thus bringing in dimension to the attack.

Donovan Ferreira & Tony de Zorzi (South Africa)

The Protea Men too have suffered a huge blow with Donovan Ferreira and Tony de Zorzi both out of the upcoming marquee tournament. While Ferreira picked up an injury on his left clavicle during SA20 2025-26. Tony de Zorzi is recovering from a tear in his right hamstring.

Apart from it, several teams are struggling with fitness of their key players. While the Australia men are hoping for Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood to get fit, the defending champions, Team India too were handed a setback recently with injuries to Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma.
