PBKS predicted playing XI vs KKR: Glenn Maxwell or Marcus Stoinis may sit out, Brar likely to play again

Punjab Kings eye playoff push as they face KKR at Eden; Maxwell likely to miss out again, with Harpreet Brar expected to stay in playing XI.

PBKS predicted playing XI vs KKR: In the 44th match of IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Both teams are coming off similar fortunes; Punjab Kings faced defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last encounter, while KKR struggled against Gujarat Titans and secured a win. That was KKR’s second consecutive loss, and they will be looking for a win now at home.

Meanwhile, Punjab is looking for certainty and wants to maximise these opportunities to secure a playoff spot because they have a history of peaking in the middle matches of the IPL and losing their place.

Everything seems to be working well for Punjab, and it looks like Glenn Maxwell, who is a premier player, is likely to warm the bench again. Let’s look at the possible playing XI for Punjab Kings vs KKR.

Glenn Maxwell or Stoinis to Stay Out

It seems like either Glenn Maxwell or Marcus Stoinis will have to sit out today. Maxwell needs to wait a bit longer to come into the squad, as he will be warming the bench for the team in today’s match. He won’t be included in the XI, as he hasn’t been scoring runs consistently and didn’t play in the last two matches.

If Marcus Stoinis is rested, then Glenn Maxwell might get a chance to prove himself again as he will be included in the playing XI. It is very much unlikely that Marcus will go out, but it depends on the pitch conditions. If it favors spin, Maxwell will be in; otherwise, Marcus will make the cut.

Harpreet Brar in?

After a remarkable performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last two matches, Harpreet Brar is likely to be included in the team. With his spin bowling and technique, he would be really helpful on the Kolkata pitch, and it would be advantageous for the team to have him in the playing XI.

Who will come as Impact sub?

It seems like Prabhsimran Singh will come in as the impact substitute if Punjab Kings bowl first. If the team bats first, then Yuzvendra Chahal is likely to come in as the impact sub.
