While Bangladesh recorded an unprecedented win, Shakib was handed fine and one demerit point for his ‘dangerous’ offence. The incident occurred on day five of the Test, when Shakib got a bit too eager to bowl and pulled up short, only to throw the ball over Mohammad Rizwan’s head in frustration.

The umpires weren’t having it, and Shakib was reprimanded on the field. He’s since been fined 10% of his match fee and handed one demerit point. Not a huge deal, but it’s a reminder that Shakib needs to keep his cool on the field.

Murder charges against Shakib
The former Bangladeshi captain also has a FIR lodged against him, putting his immediate cricket operations under jeopardy. This is because ICC rules state that a player cannot participate in international cricket if a FIR is lodged against his/her name. BCB will take a call on Shakib before the second Bangladesh vs Pakistan Test in Rawalpindi on August 30.
