DC vs GT Live Score, IPL 2026: Toss at 7 PM, All eyes on Sameer Rizvi as Gujarat Titans eye first win

Follow live updates of Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans, IPL 2026 Match No.14 from Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

DC vs GT Live Score, IPL 2026: With two wins in two games, Delhi Capitals host Gujarat Titans at home. Unlike Delhi, Gujarat have stuttered, losing both their games in the Indian Premier League 2026. Delhi haven’t been flawless though. Even as KL Rahul has faltered in both matches, Sameer Rizvi’s brilliance has carried them through in both low-scoring matches. But Gujarat could pose another big challenge as they have some of the best pacers in their ranks. The likes of Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna and Mohd Siraj could challenge DC’s batting line-up once again.

DC vs GT Live Updates: Players begin warm-up

08/04/2026 18:36

With the toss half an hour away, both teams have begun warm-up. KL Rahul is also doing his warm-up with Star Sports' robot-dog mimicking him.

DC vs GT Live Updates: Poor start from KL Rahul

08/04/2026 18:29

With scores of 0 and 1, KL Rahul has had a poor start to IPL 2026 campaign. He has lasted just four deliveries. Delhi Capitals need Rahul to give them the platform to build on if they bat first. Else, it could be difficult for DC if Sameer Rizvi has a bad day.

DC vs GT Live Updates: All eyes on Sameer Rizvi

08/04/2026 18:22

Delhi Capitals have won two consecutive games to start their IPL 2026 campaign. In both games, Sameer Rizvi was the hero, scoring 70 against LSG and then 90 against MI to chase down targets on difficult surfaces. Had it not been for Rizvi, Delhi would have had losing starts. He has clearly been the x-factor at No. 4 as the likes of KL Rahul and Nitish Rana failed.

DC vs GT Live Updates: Teams arrive in stadium

08/04/2026 18:14

Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans teams arrive at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. After two days of rain and interruptions, the DC vs GT match is likely to go ahead uninterrupted. There is no rain prediction for the evening in the NCR.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

08/04/2026 18:05

The Arun Jaitley Stadium typically offers a batting-friendly black soil pitch with good bounce and short boundaries (around 65m square, 68m straight). It favours stroke-makers and produces high-scoring games. Average first-innings scores hover around 170-200 in recent T20s/IPL matches. However, in the only game played at this venue in IPL 2026, it offered a slow pitch, making it difficult to play strokes. Mumbai Indians could only manage 162/6. Delhi did not have it easy either, as they played till 18.1 overs to chase the target down. The pitch was not very spin-friendly but aided slow-ball bowlers.

DC vs GT Head to Head

08/04/2026 17:56

The two sides have faced each other 7 times in IPL history. GT hold a slight edge with 4 wins, while DC have 3 victories. The head-to-head remains competitive overall, but last season, Gujarat beat Delhi convincingly in both games, including a 10-wicket thrashing in Delhi.

DC vs GT Match Preview: Gujarat Titans

08/04/2026 17:48

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans are coming back from two consecutive losses. Their captain Shubman Gill missed the last game with an injury, but he is set to return for today’s game. Jos Buttler and Glenn Phillips haven’t looked the part so far. The batting has largely depended on Sai Sudharshan’s skills. They need to come together as a group to return to winning ways.

They can hope their bowling unit delivers on a slow surface. Prasidh Krishna and Kagiso Rabada will play crucial roles apart from Rashid Khan and Washington Sundar.

DC vs GT Match Preview: Delhi Capitals

08/04/2026 17:37

With wins over Lucknow Super Giants (away) and Mumbai Indians at home, Delhi Capitals are a confident unit. Even in the absence of Mitchell Starc, their pace unit has done well to restrict opponents on slower, grippy pitches. Mukesh Kumar and Lungi Ngidi have been excellent, while T Natarajan has also returned to form.

However, even after two wins, Delhi must take a look at their batting. KL Rahul and Nitish Rana have failed in both games. Pathum Nissanka has looked good in patches. Sameer Rizvi has made all the difference in both games, scoring 70 and 90. If he has a bad day, Delhi’s batting could be in serious trouble.
