Who could be the most hard-working player in the Indian team setup? Perhaps, it is difficult to even come up with an answer, when you’re not in the setup. One could say Virat Kohli, but now the 37-year-old only plays ODIs, so it has to be someone else as well. India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has come up with his own verdict on the question.
Shubman Gill Most Hard-Working
As per the southpaw batter, Test and ODI skipper Shubman Gill is the most disciplined and hard-working person he has ever met. In fact, he also shared Gill’s routine to testify his claim. Speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak, Jaiswal said, “Shubman Gill. I have seen him very closely recently. He works hard a lot, and is also very consistent with his routines. (He) works a lot on his fitness, diet, skills and training. It is unbelievable. I enjoy a lot watching him and playing with him. He is an amazing man as well.”
Yashasvi Jaiswal Comes up with Surprising Choice
Gill, to his credit, brought his best with the bat in England, when India were suddenly without Rohit Sharma and Virat. He averaged 75.40 in only 10 innings, that means over 700 runs. “He batted superbly and sensibly during the England Test series. We believed in him that he would perform in every situation,” Jaiswal added.
Meanwhile, Gill had suffered a neck injury during the South Africa TEst series, that India lost 0-2. In the first match, the absence of Gill proved to be a factor, as the hosts only lost by 30 runs, on a wicket that needed a batter with skills to negotiate spin.
