It’s funny and certainly interesting, on one hand, your team is enjoying success, but when it comes to the toss, you keep losing every time. This is exactly what India’s current captain, Rohit Sharma, is experiencing. He lost the toss yet again as New Zealand opted to bowl first in the Champions Trophy last group-stage clash in Dubai on Sunday.
This was India’s 13th consecutive toss loss in ODIs since the World Cup 2023 final, setting a world record for the most tosses lost in a row by any team in the format’s history. India broke the Netherlands’ previous record of 11 tosses lost between 2011 and 2013 in ODIs.
As the saying goes, the toss also matters, it can sometimes work like magic for your team. But despite losing all these tosses, things have gone well so far for Indian camp. Now, it will be highly interesting to see when this streak finally comes to an end.
