India U19 star G Kamalini has etched her name in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) history books as the youngest debutant ever. On Tuesday, February 18, the left-handed batter made her WPL debut for the 2023 champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the tender age of 16 years and 213 days, during the match against Gujarat Giants at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Youngest players in WPL
Following closely behind Kamalini is Shabnam Shakil, who debuted for the Gujarat Giants against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2024 at the age of 16 years and 263 days. Parshavi Chopra is another young star who made her debut for the UP Warriorz against Mumbai Indians in 2023, when she was 16 years and 312 days old.
A slightly older yet equally impressive debutant is VJ Joshitha, who represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Gujarat Giants at the age of 18 years and 205 days in 2025. And just one day older than Joshitha is Alice Capsey, who made her debut for the Delhi Capitals against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2023 at 18 years and 206 days.
