Former Indian cricketer K Srikkanth has come down hard on Pakistan cricket team following their hapless performance against India in IND vs PAK tie on Sunday. Salman Ali Agha and co. were handed a humiliating 61-run defeat by the defending champions India in their third T20 World Cup 2026 tie in Colombo. Srikkanth called for putting an end to the ‘greatest rivalry’ tag for games between the two countries and suggested that even India C could beat Pakistan at present.
‘No need for Pakistan to play T20Is’
In a video on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth claimed that Shaheen Afridi was finished and said that Pakistan – who once had the likes of Waqar Younis, Imran Khan and Wasim Akram – were now struggling to find a fast bowler. The former Indian chief selector remarked that the country did not have one proper batter and suggested that they don’t play T20Is if they considered Babar Azam as a main-match player.
“Have you seen Pakistan like this live? The likes of Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, after that so many — Aqib Javed, how many bowlers? Now they are struggling to get one fast bowler. Has cricket deteriorated so much in your country? In batting, there is not even one proper batter. If Babar Azam is your main match player, then leave it, you don’t even need to play T20,” Srikkanth said.
Shaheen, who has lost his steam in the last few years, conceded 31 runs from his 2 overs while managing to pick just 1 wicket. Babar, on the other hand, managed to score just 5 runs from 7 balls before he was castled by Axar Patel.
“Shall I tell the truth? India’s fourth eleven will thrash them. They should say ‘we are not available for main India team, India C team will play against you. You call us, we will come and beat you. India C team will beat them,” said Srikkanth.
