T20 World Cup: India team play against Netherlands, and then South Africa at Ahmedabad.

Team India has already qualified for the T20 World Cup Super 8, and still have a group match to go with Netherlands, on Wednesday in Ahmedabad. While this encounter might not have much value, in terms of the opposition and the result, it would help India strategise for the final, if they reach till there. Ahmedabad will host the final as well.

IND vs NED preparation for Indian

India batting coach Sitashu Kotak spoke on the eve of IND vs NED, and opened up on the same. “Every match is important for us. It’s good that we get to play two matches here. The final is also here, so it will help. It’ll be good for the boys,” he said. Plus, he also hinted that there could be changes in the playing XI, from the IND vs PAK match.

“Looking at the wicket and conditions, it could be a bit different (playing XI). We played the last game with good intensity and we’ll play the next game with the same intensity,” Kotak added.

Abhishek Sharma not out of form

ON Sunday, Ishan Kishan was exceptional and scored a massive 70 from 44 deliveries. All this, after he had been ousted from the team close to two years back. He performed in the domestic circuit, and proved himself in the internationals as well. “We know how capable Ishan Kishan is. He has always performed for India. He’s a very confident player. I have known him since 2016–17. He’s natural. He’s someone who is very difficult to restrict.”

Abhishek Sharma, on the other hand, did not play the Namibia match, and then got out for a 0 in the Pakistan match. So, is his form a worry? Not really feels Kotak. “Abhishek is not out of runs. We don’t focus on any particular player. T20 is such a format where you can lose your wicket; it is okay.”
