On Day 1 of the second Test between India and Australia in Adelaide, Mitchell Starc pulled out some magic and gave a career-best performance, taking 6 wickets for 48 runs as India was bowled out for 180 in 44.1 overs. Although India had a strong start with a 69-run opening partnership between KL Rahul (37) and Shubman Gill (31), but they suffered a dramatic collapse, losing 9 wickets for just 111 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top scorer for India with 42 runs.
In reply, Australia reached 86 for 1 at stumps, trailing by 94 runs. Nathan McSweeney was unbeaten on 38 off 97 balls, while Marnus Labuschagne was not out on 20. Jasprit Bumrah claimed the only wicket of the day, dismissing Usman Khawaja for 13. It will be interesting to see how Day 2 comes.
